Project Life

A few weeks ago I got my Project Life in the mail!  I was and still am so EXCITED about it! I got my new camera the same day too!  I've been so good about keeping up with the album because it's so easy.  I'm trying to take a picture a day but sometimes I'm gone all day to work, but to me it's no biggie. I just use a picture from another day.  Check out Becky Higgins Blog to find out more.  You may want to  join in on the fun!

Valentine's Day Project

What a fun and easy Valentine's Day Project!
The inspiration came from Jen over at Tatertots and Jello.
I used two frames I had that were sitting in my closet since this summer, they were brand new and passed down to me from my mother.  I went and purchased the flat floral marbles and glue right at Wally World (Walmart).  Cost for both? Less than $5 bucks and there are lots of both left over for more projects. The paper I had.  I didn't do any measuring, I just eyeballed it before I added my glue.
Now I have a little more love to add to my Valentine's Day Decorating.

One Year Blog Anniversary

One year ago today I started my Blog.  I had started reading blogs the year before and loved what I had discovered, there are so many people out there with so many ideas, thoughts and just day to day life that I loved reading about and still do! I had tossed the idea of starting a blog of my own but I wasn't sure if I'd have the time.  When my sister in law Laura started hers (check it out), I had to join in on the fun (Thanks Laura for the inspiration)!  As far as the time part goes, I figured I 'm the boss of my blog so I can post as much or as little as I like.  I do find at times that I'm spending a little more time on the computer than I should but there are so many interesting people and things out there I can't help myself.  It's also been an easy way to record my life and family.

Here's to another year!!!
Thank you to those of you who stop by often and to my followers!

Round Robin

Today I'm sharing with you "Scrapbooking Christmas Cards" inspired by Ali Edwards post yesterday.  I was getting my cards organized to send to the kids at St. Jude's  when I came across this post .  I was so excited, I knew this would be a pretty easy, fun and a great way to scrap those photo cards.  I only used a few of my Christmas cards for this project and still have a ton to send to St. Judes recycling card program.

I cut my 2x2 squares to fill my page.  Some I left 2x4 or 4x4 because I didn't want to cut anyone's face off.   Arranging the pictures was the longest part of the process for me but it doesn't have to be, I'm just crazy when it comes to this and the craziest part is I usually go back to my original way.

Christmas Cards 2009
I think I'm going to do this for Birthdays too!
Happy Friday !

I can't believe it's 2000.....Ten, it's sounds crazy to me. I keep wondering where the last 10 years went. It seems just like yesterday that everyone was freaked out about Y2K, people stock piled food and water, businesses worried about computers crashing, pretty funny thinking back about it! Anyway......

I've been thinking about my word for the year for a few weeks now, actually I should say months but didn't realize it. It's funny how the obvious is right in front of our face sometimes. I've been talking with my husband about this word for months it seems. My word is DISCIPLINE.  Something I need a lot more of it seems. I'm always trying to do to many things and don't really accomplish anything. I do work outside of my home which takes quite a bit of time away from home , I also try to be part of my kids activities (I'm a scout leader, how I got into that I'm still not sure) and I also want to do the things I love and of course throw in all the daily cleaning, laundry and everything else that's apart of everyone's daily life! Along with my word comes a few New Years Resolutions (something I don't usually do, but it all comes with the word) are a few, yes only a few , the big ones!

1.  Get up 15 minutes earlier to help get the kids and hubby out of the house without yelling (the yelling part may not be so easy, but I'm hoping with the extra 15mins it will allow us to relax a bit more)

2. Spend less time on the computer!

3. Set goals to get small and big projects done!

4. Read more!!! (Books, that is)

5. Spend more quality time with Eric (my husband)

6. Do the wii fit now that we have one, no excuses!

7.  GO TO BED Earlier than 11:30 at night so I can get up 15 mins earlier in the morning.

Happy January Everyone and I wish you all well with your New Year's Resolutions!

Recipe for a Snowman

"Our Snowmen"
He lasted less than an hour due to the rain and warmer temps.  He was cute while he lasted!

1 Generous Helping of Wet Packing Snow
1/4 Cup of Round Nuts in the Shell
2 Larger Nuts
1 Large Carrot
2 Gloves or Mittens
1 Old Hat
2 Fallen Branches
1-4 Well Bundled Children
2 Scoops of Imagination
1 Dash of Good Humor
May substitute or add any of the following
Ear Muffins
Pine Cones
Makes one serving.
May last for several days

Preheat a winter's day to 32 degrees or lower

Firmly pack a ball of snow between your two hands and place upon the ground.  Continue to roll on snow covered ground until ball agthers enough snow to measure about three feet.  This will form the base of your snowmen.
Roll and shape two additional snowballs.  The first will be approximately one foot in diameter and the second will be two feet.  Place the second largest ball on the top of the base.  The smallest is the head and goes on top.
Press in the smaller nuts to form the teeth.  To give the snowman a smile, nuts should be placed higher on the outer corners of mouth.  Center a carrot above the mouth for the nose.  Oush in the larger end with pointed end out.  The two largest nuts form the eyes and are to be placed above the carrot nose.
Attach fallen branches to the middle ball of snow on either dise for the arms.  Add gloves or mittens on the ends of the sticks.  Top him off with an old hat and sprinkle with laughter.  Toss in a  brief snowball fight for excitement.  Garnish with seeds on top or hat and scatter corn around the snowman for additional enjoyment.
Followed by a cup of Hot Chocolate with mini Marshmallows!
