Favorite Bean Salsa

This is such a Super Easy Bean Salsa that taste great!

My husband loves it on Football Sunday.
It's a bit addicting....I think it's the fresh lime juice that keeps you going back for more.

Recipe:
2 Cans Black Beans
2 Cans White Beans
2 Cans Shoepeg Corn
6 Fresh Limes
Garlic (use a little or a lot)
Spicy Fresh Peppers*
*(Habanero Peppers are perfect if you can handle HOT stuff, use cautiously, 1-2 is usually plenty)
You can substitute mild peppers for those who don't enjoy hot and spicy .  I usually set aside a dish full before adding the peppers for the kids and they eat it right up.
I sometimes add a can of diced tomatoes which my husband likes
but I'm not a big fan of tomatoes so I tend to avoid adding them.

Serve with Tortilla Chips (Scoops work perfect!)

Warning: If you have a big crowd you may want to double the batch....
it seems to disappear fast, even for those who aren't big on beans.

I think this is a recipe that you can easily add to.......What you would add?

Enjoy!

Wordful Wednesday

My little Miss Audrey (age: almost 7) decided she needed to put on a little lipstick and blush to go along with her newly painted nails.  I'm thinking I need to give her a few lessons on applying make-up for later in life but for now I'm loving the fun she is having with it!   She won't be happy with me posting this pic, but how could I resist?!?!?

Happy Wordful Wednesday!

Jason Mraz

Well, I haven't been this excited in some time.  I was lucky enough to see and hear Jason Mraz practice before his concert in the evening.  I help run the 3 beer tents on the concert grounds so I've seen Celtic Women, Lynard Skynard, Tim McGraw and Alan Jackson so far but Jason Mraz in my book has been the best so far  (I know many of you may disagree and that's ok). When I arrived on site yesterday and opened my car door, I couldn't believe my ears.....Jason Mraz singing.  I grabbed my camera and ran down near the stage and snapped some pics until some security guard told me I'm not aloud to take pictures.....no problem I just got 20! During our set up we listened and watched.  So Exciting!  His performance in the  evening was awesome!!!!  During his last song (or so I thought) I ran down near the stage and listened and watched.  Then he had a great encore that must have lasted 15mins.  It was thrilling!  I snapped some more pics and shot little videos but enjoyed listening and watching him most of all!  He has a wonderful voice and seems to be genuinely nice.

Love this pic!
He's known for not wearing shoes...my kind of guy.  I hate shoes.
He did wear them during the concert itself.

I don't think I will ever forget this day!  It was so much fun!

A Redo not quite finished

In the spring I decided to redo my china cabinet....it was begging me for a new coat of paint!

Originally I wanted to go a light pretty blue but realized that wasn't going to work for me.  After getting a second blue to try (that I  liked better) I  thought it would be too much for the whole cabinet and came up with painting the outside this beautiful burnt orangie color.  I think it came out perfect!  I still need to finish painting 3 doors now that the weather isn't too hot and humid anymore.   I'm loving all the colors....it makes me feel happy when I look at it.  And yes my husband thought I was crazy when trying to figure out a color but it's all good, he likes it too!

Still need to figure out the hardware but for now I put the old stuff on so I could use it.  Suggestions wanted!
